BOZEMAN — A Bozeman Librarian won Montana’s Sheila Cates Librarian of the Year award, an annual recognition from the Montana Library Association.

Cindy Christin, has been working with families and the community at the Bozeman Public Library for more than thirty years.

She’s the head of the library’s children’s department and works to promote early childhood literacy through different programs, books and stories.

Christin says her favorite part of the job is connecting with kids, families, and caregivers, and sharing stories with the youngsters.

“Oh, it’s a huge honor to be recognized,” said Christin.

“I’ve been here at the Bozeman Public Library for 33 years, so this is a lot of time that I and a lot of other people, it’s been a group effort, to really try and promote early literacy in Montana.”

Christin says she looks forward to the library opening up again to the public soon.
