Montana Tech has released its latest enrollment numbers, which show a decline and continue a trend that began in 2011.
School enrollment this fall sits at 2,421 students, which is down 162 students compared to last fall.
Tech has implemented several programs to combat the decline including a new Student Success Center, one of many aspects that university officials believe makes the Butte university attractive.
The school has also hired two outside consulting agencies to work on marketing and have created four teams on campus to come up with unique ways to tackle the enrollment issues.
“Look at recruitment, look at student success, to look at our marketing and messaging and also to identify, you know, what our campus looks like, how do we present ourselves,” Montana Tech Chancellor Les P. Cook said.
He added that the school is also planning to expand its nursing program, which is a growing field of study at Montana Tech.
