GREAT FALLS — Cascade County Sheriff/Coroner Jesse Slaughter on Friday afternoon identified Antonio Carlos Thierry Jr. as the person who died after being shot on Thursday.

Thierry, 14 years old, was an eighth-grade student at East Middle School.

Sheriff Slaughter said that Thierry was shot in the chest by a juvenile male at about 4:57 p.m. on Thursday. His body was taken to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula for autopsy.

The official cause of Thierry's death was a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Sheriff Slaughter, and the manner of death was homicide.

At this point, no arrests have been made, and the name of the other juvenile has not yet been released, but the Great Falls Police Department stressed that there is no danger to the community.
