An employee at a bar in Butte reported a grinch who stole a Christmas tree early Tuesday morning.

The bartender at the Met Tavern told police two patrons were asked to leave the bar off of Harrison Avenue just after midnight Tuesday.

They soon returned and one grabbed a small, decorated tree, threw it in the bed of a pickup, and drove away.

Fortunately, police found the tree later in the day, and the bar did not press charges.
