Possible tornado reported in Wheatland Co.

GREAT FALLS — The Wheatland County Sheriff's Office received several reports of a possible tornado around 6:30 pm.

Photos indicate a strong thunderstorm and a wall cloud, which could be capable of producing a tornado. There have been no reports of damage or injuries at this point.

MTN's STORMTracker Weather team is working to confirm if a tornado did touch down and will update you once we get more information.

If you are in the path of a tornado-warned thunderstorm, please seek shelter immediately. Get away from windows, seek the lowest floor in the innermost section of the building.

Wheatland County is between Eddie's Corner and Big Timber; the county seat is Harlowton.

In 2017, a small tornado hit near Sidney in Richland County in eastern Montana, injuring one person and causing damage. In June 2010, a tornado hit Billings, causing significant damage to the MetraPark facility. Just several weeks later, two people were killed when a tornado struck a family ranch near Reserve in northeastern Montana.
