The U.S. Supreme Court is planning to see two cases from Montana in the coming year -- inlcuding one involving a Kalispell couple.
One hearing revolves around a case that could change the face of public education, and the definition of separation of church and state.
A Kalispell couple sued to challenge a state law that bars students of religious schools from accepting a state tax credit.
Montana's school choice program was enacted in 2015, but in 2018, the Montana Supreme Court ruled the program unconstitutional and ended its effectiveness.
The U.S. Supreme Court then agreed to hear the couple's appeal, expected in early 2020.
And the other case is set for Dec. 3, where the towns of Opportunity and Crackerville are seeking addition cleanup of arsenic left there after a century of copper smelting.
The communities say Atlantic Richfield Company should pay for a more thorough clean up.
