MISSOULA – The latest advisory for the West Central Montana Avalanche Center shows “considerable” danger of snow slides in the backcountry.

Human triggered avalanches are likely in specific areas across the region, according to the Center’s Logan King.

King says the main concern continues to be persistent weak layers and that persistent slabs are the main concern on Thursday.

He warns that the “conditions are complex and the consequences are high if you make a mistake. Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security.”
