MISSOULA — Missoula’s Mountain Line bus service is now offering the community a free Wi-Fi hotspot.

The bus, which will operate from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is located at 235 South 5th Street in the First Presbyterian Church parking lot. Mountain Line says that managers say that with many businesses and schools now operating online, they want to provide reliable internet access to those who need it.

The transit agency has ramped down service since the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing them to utilize the Wi-Fi equipped electric bus. They are following in the footsteps of other transportation services around the country providing this opportunity.

“The bus is there, people will drive up to be within the perimeter of the distance they need to be at the Wi-Fi where they can connect and utilize the internet," Mountain Line general manager Corey Aldridge explained.

Aldridge says they will place a second free Wi-Fi bus next to the library on Thursday.
