The Wyoming Highway Patrol was notified of crashes involving multiple vehicles around milepost 181 and 184 on Interstate 80 at around 3:39 p.m. on Sunday.
Troopers arrived to find over 100 vehicles involved between both crashes, according to a press release issued Monday.
Multiple injuries and three fatalities have been confirmed.
The east and westbound lanes of I-80 remained closed Monday while troopers continue to investigate.
Weather is reported to be a factor in the crashes.
As of 10 a.m. Monday the estimated time to open the road is 26 to 32 .
