STEVENSVILLE – Rising water levels have prompted some trail closures and river access restrictions in Stevensville.

There is now limited access to trails and parklands in the Stevensville River Park as high water from the Bitterroot River is beginning to enter the park.

Some parts of the river trail loop are now impassable and people using the trail and the park should use extreme caution and must avoid areas where high water exists.

People need to also be aware of rapidly changing conditions, where flash flooding and rapidly moving waters are possible.

Our unsettled weather means that more flooding can be expected from the Bitterroot River and other water channels.

Stevensville officials note that people should expect further trail and park closures according to water levels and flooding conditions.
