UPDATE - August 2, 2020 - 8:30 p.m.
PINESDALE - A small fire outside the town of Pinesdale that started Saturday at around 5 p.m. has been put out according to Bitterroot National Forest spokesman Tod Mckay.
The Cowcreek Fire was a tenth of an acre in size and was between national forest and private property but ultimately was on the Bitterroot National Forest.
While no structures were threatened by the blaze, a helicopter was dispatched to the area.
The helicopter ultimately was not needed as engines were able to respond and put out the blaze.

In an alert from Ravalli County Sheriff's Office, there has been a fire identified west of Pinesdale.
RCSO said that firefighters have been alerted and have been dispatched.
