UPDATE: 

MISSOULA – The Montana Department of Transportation reports that the semi truck that was blocking the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 east of Lookout Pass has been cleared.

Traffic is once again flowing after the crash which happened near mile marker 3 in Mineral County at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

The freeway was snow covered and slushy over Lookout Pass.


MISSOULA – A semi-truck crash is causing heavy delays on Interstate 90 near Lookout Pass.

The truck is blocking the westbound lanes on I-90 in the area of mile marker 3 after jack-knifing on slick roads. A semi crash was also blocking one lane on US Highway 2 about 11 miles east of West Glacier.

The Montana Highway Patrol also was reporting an accident on I-90 east near mile marker 55. Accidents were reported on US Highway 93 and Montana Highway 56 in Lincoln County.

Snow covered roads could be seen at Lookout, Lolo and Lost Trail passes.

In addition to snow falling in the higher elevations, the National Weather Service Office in Missoula was reporting freezing rain in the Libby, Missoula, Olney and West Glacier areas.
