Authorities identify pedestrian killed on Highway 93 near Ronan

POLSON — Authorities have released the name of the man who died last week after being hit by the edge of a snowplow while walking along US Highway 93 south of Ronan.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says that 35-year-old, Brandon Illig, of Dixon died in the Jan. 6 accident which happened near mile marker 45.

Sheriff Bell says that the "cause of death has been certified as multiple blunt force injuries and the manner as accidental."

The Montana Highway Patrol previously reported that a pedestrian was walking near the fog line on the shoulder of the road was struck by the edge of a snowplow.
