SUPERIOR — A Missoula man who has been reported missing has been found dead in Mineral County.
Mineral County Sheriff Mike Boone says authorities were contacted on Aug. 1 and told that Andrew James Hossle was possibly despondent and suicidal.
The caller indicated that Hossle might be near a bridge in Alberton. Sheriff Boone says Mineral and Missoula County deputies located Hossle's vehicle approximately 10 miles west of Alberton, in the Fish Creek area.
Several law enforcement and support agencies -- and the individual's family and friends conducted an extensive search beginning on Thursday evening. The search lasted until Saturday, according to Sheriff Boone.
The Mineral County Sheriff's Office was notified late Monday by employees with a local rafting company that they believed they had located the individual who had been reported missing.
Sheriff Boone says Hossle was positively identified and his body was taken to the Montana Crime Lab, The investigation is ongoing at this time.
