Sanders County announces changes due to COVID-19

THOMPSON FALLS — The Sanders County Courthouse and the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office are now only assisting people by phone or email due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

People may call (406) 827-6942 or visit the Sanders County website for more information. Some office visits will be allowed if deemed necessary by county officials.

In those cases, people will need to make an appointment, and then will be screened prior to entry, since the doors will be locked.

According to a news release, any necessary court matters, that have not been continued will be handled only by remote appearance by attorneys and their clients.

Additionally, WIC offices are closed to the public. Services and information can be found by sending an email or contacting (406) 827-6931.

County workers have been disinfecting counters, equipment, and doors frequently for the safety of everyone.

The new procedures will be in place until further notice.
