Wildfire burning near Hot Springs

HOT SPRINGS — Warming temperatures on Monday afternoon sparked an active fire for a blaze burning in Sanders County.

Fire officials say the 11 acre blaze is burning inthe Hot Springs Creek area.

It was started from a lightning strike over the past few days and is burning in heavy foliage which includes snags and some downfall.

The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Division of Fire has numerous people on the scene as well as a helicopter with buckets working on the blaze.

More crews were expected to arrive Monday and a 20 person team will help with control efforts. No structures are being threatened by the fire.
