MISSOULA — The 14th annual Pet Fest is taking place this weekend at the Missoula County Fairgrounds.

People headed down to see all the miniature horses, goats, dogs and cats. The adoption event features activities like the doggie Olympics and wacky Weiner dog dash.

Face painting and food also make the event extra fun. Local shelters and rescue centers bring animals that are up for adoption-and organizers say 95 percent of them get taken to a forever home.

"Missoula has really shown up this year. I'm so happy to see the turn out, and so many people participating in the contest," Marketplace Media and Events co-founder Megan Pfaff said.

"I walked through, and halfway through the day, our animals were pretty much all adopted out. It's just wonderful," she added.

There was also an area for people to donate pet food to the shelters that participated. Click here for more information about the event.
