RezQ Dogs, an animal shelter near Dodson in Phillips County, is helping an injured dog on his road to recovery.

'King' was found on Tuesday on the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation after being shot through the neck with an arrow.

RezQ Dogs posted photos to their Facebook page, thanking both strangers and friends for their kindness in rescuing King.

He was taken around 100 miles to a vet for care before being picked up by RezQ dogs on Wednesday.

RezQ Dogs director Anita Wilke says the work their organization does teaches them that life is a miracle.

X-rays show the blunt-tipped arrow missed King’s spine by millimeters and no vital organs were injured.

He is still recovering after having the arrow removed, but expected to be OK.

RezQ posted their appreciation on Facebook : "A huge thank you goes out to the kindness of the members of the Rocky Boy Indian Community for your assistance in locating and helping load this dog. Thank you to a wonderful vet by the name of Brenee Peterson of Bear Paw Veterinary for yet again her awesome care. And a huge thank you goes out to Pete Federspiel , the Havre Animal Control officer for taking time off to transport this dog to the vet for us."

RezQ Dogs also made another big announcement; they are moving to a new location around 80 miles away that will better serve people and pups.

Anita says spring flooding has threatened shelter operations at their current location for years.
