LIBBY — Friday evening the Libby Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance in the area of 10th Street and Montana Avenue.
Two people had been assaulted and had minor injuries.
The male suspect barricaded himself in his residence and was reported to be armed with a handgun.
Officers set up a perimeter around the residence and evacuated nearby homes and businesses.
After negotiating with law enforcement, the suspect surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without incident.
No shots were fired by either the suspect or law enforcement.
