MISSOULA — Besides a slight breeze this afternoon, we had a very calm day weather-wise in Western Montana.
We remain on a warming trend as we head into the end of the week and beginning of the weekend.
Today we reached the mid-70s today, but we can expect to be in the 80s tomorrow afternoon!
Northwest Montana will be a day behind the 80-degree mark, and we reach the 80s across the northwest on Friday.
These next two days will be our first time in the 80s since September of 2019- just over 8 months ago!
Blue skies stay in our forecast during this warming trend, too!
We are looking more like summer than spring heading into the weekend.
Saturday will be the warmest day of the week as we top out in the upper 80s and low 90s!
Saturday night our next storm system moves in.
Since we have so much heat- a lot more instability will be likely.
This means moisture will rise quickly and cloud tops will grow high quickly.
These strong storms include: hail, gusty wind, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours.
Sunday afternoon rain moves out and temperatures drop to the low 70s- which is actually just about average for this time of year.
