MISSOULA — Thursday still is set to be the warmest day of this week!

Today we topped out in the mid to upper 80s, and temperatures only take a slight drop for Friday.

Friday will be mild and breezy.

Expect about 20-25 MPH gusts in valleys across Western Montana Friday afternoon and evening.

Areas like Philipsburg, Georgetown Lake, Butte, Drummond, etc, will not only be breezy but dry as well. These areas are under a Red Flag Warning from Friday at noon through Friday night.

Highs from Friday through the weekend will reach the low to mid 80s.

The only chances of precipitation in the forecast over the next 7 days come Friday afternoon to isolated sections of the northwest.

Other than a few spotty storms there, we are expected to see a lot of sunshine and another warming trend back in our forecast next week.

Temperatures go from the mid 80s this weekend to the upper 80s by the beginning of next week.

Then highs skyrocket again into the low 90s through mid and late week next week.

This dry and warm trend are increasing fire danger by the day, so make sure you are extra careful and aware as you head out into the backcountry this weekend.
