MISSOULA — Winter Weather Advisories remain in place for most of Western Montana tonight (excluding the northwest corner).

Quick bursts of snow will accumulate to 1-2” on valley floors through Friday night.

This is not significant amounts of snow, but in terms of travel, this could mean very slick roadways and fast-changing conditions while driving today.

A few lingering snow showers are possible Saturday morning.

Even though it will not be snowing, roads remain slick through the early morning hours of Saturday.

Otherwise, we keep warmer temperatures in our afternoon forecasts through the end of the weekend and beginning of next week.

Widespread rain and snow return Sunday.

A much colder change is in store for us late next week.

There is growing confidence that colder air will settle in, and our highs and lows will finally go from steadily above average to steadily below average by mid-January.
