MISSOULA — After a very nice Sunday and Monday, smoke will start to impact communities in western Montana once again as local fires become more active.
The Camp Creek Fire in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and the Nature Grove Fire in eastern Ravalli County will blow westward over the next couple of days, potentially causing air quality issues for may in the valley locations.
Thunderstorms will return to Ravalli and Missoula counties on Tuesday afternoon, and everybody else on Wednesday afternoon. These storms appear to be sub-severe with this current setup, but I cannot rule out some wild gusts around 40 to 50 MPH and small hail in one or two of these storms.
Temperatures will climb into the 90s by midweek yet again, but then decrease back into the 70s for the weekend with a storm system moving in.
This storm system is showing signs that it may develop into a widespread soaker for the region by Sunday. However, not all models are in agreement of this and its will quite a ways away. We will monitor this over the next few days as this gets closer.
