MISSOULA — Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone out there in Western Montana tonight!
Love may or may not be in the air tonight… but I can tell you one thing… SNOW definitely is!
We are still tracking widespread snow showers in the forecast tonight with most of those moving out a little later than midnight.
Expect slick roadways through passes, but valleys will see little to no impact from these last snow showers tonight.
Now Saturday morning, we are tracking more snow in the forecast ahead of our second cold front.
This cold front will not enter Western Montana until late Saturday/early Sunday, but we will still see rain and snow in valleys by Saturday afternoon and evening.
Snow will continue to fall in mountains where temperatures will remain just at or below freezing.
Passes will continue to stay slick through the entire weekend, but we are also going to see periods of icy and snowy roads in valleys during the overnight/early morning hours in valleys Saturday and Sunday.
After the second cold front passes, we will still see a few lingering showers, but also feel a breeze.
Breezy conditions pick right back up late Saturday and early Sunday with gusts expected to be closer to 30-35 MPH in valleys.
Just like today, the breeze will blow snow around reducing visibility, and even though temperatures return to the upper 30s and 40s all weekend long, breezy and humid conditions will make it feel a little cooler out there.
The main impacts from this weekend’s system will be to roads and travel, so please take it slow out there as our next system passes.
Have a great weekend!
