and last updated

MISSOULA — Valley fog will be possible Monday morning especially across northwest Montana. Once that clears expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the 30s to low 40s.

An atmospheric river will bring mountain snow along with valley rain/snow Tuesday and Wednesday.

Precipitation will start Tuesday afternoon for western Montana. Valleys may see precipitation start as a rain/snow mix before rising snow levels change lower elevations to all rain. Snow levels could rise to as high as 7,000 ft. by Tuesday evening allowing even mountain passes to see precipitation as a rain/snow mix or all rain.

Currently a cold front is forecast to move from north to south starting Wednesday morning in northwest Montana. Gusty winds are expected as the front moves through and snow bands could set up behind the front for even valley locations. We will continue to watch this and update you as we move through the next couple of days.
