MISSOULA — Other than a few light mountain snow showers, expect dry and cool weather Thanksgiving with highs in the middle to upper 30s and mostly cloudy skies overhead.
High pressure starts to build over the northern Rockies this weekend and will continue well into next week.
A few weak systems will allow for some light mountain snow showers Saturday and Monday. Other than that expect dry conditions with highs in the upper 30s to middle 40s through next week.
The one thing we will be watching as this strong area of high pressure builds next week, is for valley inversions to develop. If this happens, cold air will get stuck in the valleys leading to much colder temperatures, degrading air quality and valley fog/freezing fog. To escape this scenario, just head to the mountains where sunny skies and warmer temperatures will be present through next week.
