MISSOULA — Hot temperatures are in the forecast today as highs top out in the middle 80s to low 90s.

By the afternoon a weak cold front will approach the region. As it does, breezy winds will develop across western Montana leading to increased fire danger. Expect wind gusts around 25-30 mph.

Temperatures will be cooler behind the front Wednesday as highs range from the 70s to low 80s. Fire danger will remain high as winds remain around 25-30 mph.

Expect below average temperatures Thursday and Friday with highs remaining in the 70s to low 80s under sunny skies.

Temperatures will begin to warm this weekend and continue into next week as a ridge of high pressure begins to build out west.

The highs Saturday will be in the low to upper 80s with upper 80s to middle 90s expected Sunday through around Tuesday of next week.
