MISSOULA — ...Periods of accumulating snow will impact mountain passes through early next week. Warmer temperatures will mean light snow or rain/snow with very little accumulations for valleys...

Light snow will continue especially in west-central and southwest Montana Monday morning. Some clearing is expected Monday afternoon and evening. Highs Monday will top out in the low 30s.

Light snow will return to western Montana Tuesday afternoon and evening. These snow showers will be most widespread in the mountains and northwest Montana. Valleys will generally see less than 1". Highs will once again be in the low to mid 30s.

After a brief break from the Snow Wednesday afternoon and evening. Our next system will bring another round of precipitation to western Montana Thursday. This system will be warmer than those earlier in the week. This means while the mountains see snow the valleys could be looking at a rain/snow mix or freezing rain. Highs Thursday will be in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Another break from the snow is expected Friday. Then what could be the strongest of the storms this week moves in over the weekend. This system could bring moderate to heavy snow to mountain passes. Valleys could also see accumulating snow, however, as temperatures will again be in the upper 30s to low 40s, valleys may once again be dealing with rain/snow or freezing rain. We will have more details on this system by the middle and end of the week.
