MISSOULA — The recent mild and somewhat active weather pattern remains in place for the northern Rockies Friday and this will continue through the weekend and even into next week.

A weak system will bring light mountain snow along with the occasional valley rain/snow shower Friday. No snow accumulation is expected in the valleys, the mountains along the Montana/Idaho border could see anywhere from 1"-to-4" by this evening.

Looking at the weekend, some patchy fog will develop Saturday morning, other than that expect highs in the 40's with cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. Our next system will then bring valley rain and mountain snow back to the forecast Sunday.

This system looks to be slightly stronger than the one that will move through Friday. Potential snow of 3"-to-6" will be possible for the mountains while the valleys again see scattered light rain or a rain/snow mix with very little snow accumulation expected.

This weather pattern seems to hold together moving into next week with high temperatures remaining in the 40's along with the occasional valley rain/snow shower and mountain snow.
