MISSOULA — Expect another beautiful day across the northern Rockies Tuesday with sunshine and high temperatures ranging in the low to upper 60's. By the afternoon winds will start to increase, specifically in west-central Montana with gusts around 20-30 mph.
A change to our weather pattern will begin Wednesday as a cold front approaches. Clouds will be increasing throughout the day with a few scattered showers possible by Wednesday afternoon in northwest Montana. High temperatures in be in the 50's to low 60's.
Rain showers will be most widespread Wednesday night into Thursday as the cold front moves through. An isolated thunderstorm or two will even be possible Thursday afternoon. Along with the rain, expect breezy winds with gusts around 25 mph. High temperatures will top out mostly in the 50's.
A few showers will linger into Friday with high temperatures warming slightly into the 50's and low 60's.
A brief ridge of high pressure will set up for Saturday leading to warm and dry conditions with highs in the low to upper 60's.
Forecast models are then showing the potential for another cold front to move through during the day Sunday. This would bring increasing clouds and showers back to the forecast for both Sunday and Monday of next week.
