MISSOULA — Abundant sunshine, warm and dry weather will be felt across the northern Rockies to start the week. Expect high temperatures right around seasonal average ranging from the low to upper 80's Monday.
Some of the warmest air so far this year looks to build in Tuesday and Wednesday.
The highs will range from the upper 80's to middle 90's Tuesday then low to even upper 90's Wednesday. Areas around Troy will push 100 degrees on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Starting Wednesday night and continuing into Friday, models are hinting at our first surge of Monsoon moisture from the southwest. This will bring thunderstorms back to the forecast primarily for areas south of I-90.
Thunderstorms look to be most widespread Thursday afternoon and evening. It is still a bit early, however, early indications show the potential for strong storms with hail, gusty winds, and brief heavy rain Thursday.
We will continue to watch this and bring updates as we move throughout the week.
