MISSOULA — A weak cold front will bring showers back to the forecast Wednesday. Expect scattered rain showers in the valleys and snow in the mountains. Highs will top out in the 40s.
Slightly colder air will move in behind the front Thursday. This will allow snow levels to drop to valley floors by Wednesday night and Thursday. Very little to no snow is expected in the valleys with precipitation falling as a rain/snow mix. The mountains will once again see scattered snow showers.
Starting Friday and continuing through the beginning of next week, cooler temperatures but drier weather will move in. Highs will top out in the middle to 30s to low 40s Friday through Monday with a mix of sun and clouds.
By Tuesday of next week, models are showing another round of unsettled weather returning in the form of valley rain/snow and mountain snow.
