We may have seen all we’re going to see of the Monterrey Five.

HBO president Casey Bloys on Wednesday said there are no current plans in place for another season of its star-packed series “Big Little Lies,” but he remains “open” to the idea. (CNN and HBO share parent company WarnerMedia.)

“To me, on the face of it, there’s no obvious place to go or no obvious story,” he told reporters during the Television Critics Association press tour, taking place over the next two weeks in Beverly Hills. “That said, this group is an extraordinary group of actors and producers and writers and directors. So if they all came to me and said, ‘We all have the greatest take listen to this,’ I’d certainly be open to it because I love working with all of them.”

“Big Little Lies” wrapped up its second season on Sunday.

This season found the five main characters — played by Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz and Shailene Woodley — dealing with the aftermath of a murder that took place at the end of Season 1.

Oscar winner Meryl Streep joined the cast this year playing the mother of victim Perry (Alexander Skarsgård), who launched a quest to find out the truth, suspecting the women present for his death weren’t telling the whole truth.

The show was conceptualized as a limited series, as it was based on a single novel by Liane Moriarty.

Moriarty worked with producers to formulate a story for Season 2.

Bloys admitted he’d approached a follow-up to the Emmy-winning freshman season “skeptically” but was swayed when it “became clear to us is there was a story to tell.”

This time around, he said, “it just doesn’t feel like it, but I’m certainly open.”

The first season of “Big Little Lies” won 8 Emmy Awards but did not air in time to be eligible forthis year’s Emmy cycle.
