Almost from the beginning viewers of “The Real Housewives” have been waiting for “CHill” to make it official.
Fox sportscaster Mike Hill popped the question Friday to cast member Cynthia Bailey at the grand opening of her wine cellar, The Bailey WineCellar, in Atlanta.
Designed by celebrity event planner, Courtney Ajinça, the grand opening featured decor reminiscent of the wine cellars and beautiful vineyards of California.
But Hill and Anjinca conspired to surprise Bailey with the proposal viewers of her show know she’s been eagerly awaiting.
Hill, 48, pretended to toast Bailey, 52, and her new venture in the presence of the attendees as well as his daughters from a previous relationship, Kayla, 17 and Ashlee 19 and Bailey’s daughter, 19 year-old Noëlle, with her former boyfriend, actor Leon Robinson.
During Hill’s speech his daughter Kayla, interrupted with “No dad I think you should propose like this…” before handing him a bottle with a question mark on it.
Hill told Noëlle that he needed her help to open the bottle and she passed him the ring box.
The teen helped Hill open the box while he dropped to one knee to profess his love to an emotional Bailey.
Both Hill’s daughters and Bailey’s daughter held a sign designed like a puzzle piece with their names as well as Hill’s other daughter, Ashlee, 19 (who was also in attendance) were standing behind him with a “Can We Be A Family?”
Bailey offered Hill a tearful “yes” and the crowd started chanting “Congratulations CHill!” which is the moniker the couple adopted on social media.
Ajinça told CNN in a statement that she and Hill “have been planning for a couple of months on how he wanted to do the proposal and catch Cynthia off guard.”
“He wanted it to be perfect and in a place where she would be surrounded by friends and family. He thought the opening of her Bailey Wine Cellar would be ideal because she would be clueless,” Ajinça said. “It was a beautiful and outstanding moment, not a dry eye in the place. I’m so happy for the both of them.”
Bailey and Hill met in early 2018 on “The Steve Harvey Show” after the host presented the previously married Bailey with three potential matches.
She chose Hill and last August they became social media official in August.
It will be a second marriage for both.
Bailey famously married businessman Peter Thomas on the show in 2010, but the pair split in 2016.
In September, Bailey posted a Throwback Thursday photo on her official Instagram account of the day she met Hill on “The Steve Harvey Show.”
“The day I met @itsmikehill for the first time,” the caption read. “Never question how or when God shows up. @iamsteveharveytv #baeday #godsplan #blessed #faith.”
