98 people become American citizens at ceremony in Indy the day before July 4th

    Indianapolis, IN (WRTV) — Nearly 100 men and women from across the world became citizens of the United States at a ceremony in Indianapolis the day before America’s birthday.

The ceremony took place at Indianapolis’ Presidential landmark, the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site where 98 people took the Oath of Allegence and officially became U.S. citizens.

Judge Sarah Evens Baker presided over the naturalization ceremony in a tent on the south lawn and Benjamin Harrison’s great-great-grandson, Kimball Harrison Morsman, provided remarks.

The 98 new citizens come from 31 countries including Afghanistan, China, Nigeria, Mexico, Guatemala, Israel, Italy and Vietnam.
