MISSOULA – Cities all over the country like Portland, New York and Seattle hold Sunday morning dance classes called Dance Church.

The Downtown Dance Collective offers a Dance Church where people groove to a guided, non-denominational meditation.

The class gives community members a chance to move their bodies and let loose at the start of the week. The room fills with slow, calm music and builds until its louder and more upbeat.

The class usually holds three-to-20 movers and shakers who are welcomed to wiggle, roll around and jump however they want.

Instructor Tricia Opstad says it offers people a chance to connect with themselves and together without attending a traditional religious church service.
