MISSOULA – Looking forward to 2019, KPAX is sponsoring Missoula’s 25th New Year’s Eve First Night.

More than 60 local comedians, artists and musicians will pack 20 locations with entertainment and family-friendly fun during the event.

Buttons for entry into the events are available for purchase at numerous locations in Missoula and the Bitterroot.

Circus aerial performances, an iron pour demonstration and a hat parade are just some of the things you can see across town.

Mimes, jazz, ballet, acapella performances and taekwondo demonstrations are all also on the agenda.

Arts Missoula has been putting on First Night since 1994, and about 80 volunteers spend the year working to prepare for the special night of events.

Program Director Matt Anglen said it’s been a fun activity since the start.

“It’s been a really great way of bringing the whole community together, and really showcasing all the great talent that’s here in Missoula, and it’s been a tradition ever since,” he explained.

First Night started in 1976 in Boston, and Missoula is one of the few towns still involved. Click here for a full list of programs and locations.
