HOT SPRINGS – This week’s winner of a KPAX-TV and Republic Services One Class at a Time grant is Hot Springs High School history teacher Robin Miller.

Miller received a $250 check which she is using to purchase US Forest Service maps for her classroom.

Miller says her students spend a lot of time studying a number of facets of the USFS and future job potential.

Western Montana and Northern Idaho bring a lot of opportunities in the Forest Service and she wants her students to have the skills necessary to enter that job market.

“This would be something they can put on their resume, because there are so many Forest Service jobs, surveying jobs, forestry jobs, working at the court office. It’s just a really big section of our economy that I wanted them to be able to prepare for,” Miller said.
