MISSOULA — This week’s Republic Services and KPAX-TV One Class at a Time winner is Hellgate High School world literature teacher Tyson Warner.
Warner was presented with $250 which is going to be used to buy new books for his classroom. Warner says that it is important to bring an influx of current literature to his students.
Current material translates well to most of his students and allows them the opportunity to discuss topics that others are exploring.
“I really want them to be like parts of the reading public today, that they’re actively reading the books that their parents read, that people are talking about and discussing, so while they have that base and the background, I want them to be able to read things that are current…that are speaking to them today,” Warner said.
