MISSOULA — Sentinel High School Orchestra Teacher Ryan Davis has $250 to put toward his classroom thanks to Republic Services and KPAX-TV.
Davis is this week’s winner of a One Class at a Time grant awarded by Republic Services Municipal Manager Chad Bauer and KPAX-TV General Manager Bob Hermes. Davis says, as the orchestra program has grown over the years, the need for performance apparel has grown as well.
There is a particular need for men’s suit jackets. He stresses to his student’s the importance looking professional when they’re performing, and how dressing the part will be important as they move on into a professional setting.
“I think it’s a sub-conscience thing. They take pride in how they look, they sound good as well, they present well, so trying to get them to present themselves to the community as well as they can," Davis said.
