MISSOULA — This week’s KPAX-TV and Republic Services One Class at a Time winner is Target Range fourth grade teacher Sandy Squillace.
KPAX-TV General Manager Bob Hermes presented Squillace and Jodi Hunt with a $250 check.
Squillace will use the grant money to buy items to help energetic students channel their energy to focus on learning.
Those items include yoga balls, fidget toys, stress balls, and wiggle cushions for chairs. She says the purchases will help students better focus on what she’s teaching.
"That physical activity helps the brain, then we can be able to focus and function, and be able to focus on their instruction, on their projects, getting things done in that short amount of time that we have them in this hybrid situation,” Squillace explained.
