MISSOULA — Our KPAX-TV and Republic Services One Class at a Time grant winner this week is Washington Middle School teacher Kory Johnston.
KPAX TV General Manager Bob Hermes presented Johnston with a $250 check which will be used for digital scales for her math and science students.
Johnston says gaining accurate measurements in lab work and projects is so important at this level, as that will be the expectation moving into high school, college, and beyond.
Having this also allows her students the opportunity to work in small groups. Johnston says this will be a nice upgrade for her classroom.
“One of the things that the students do is work with physical and chemical properties, one of those physical properties being density. They will be able to calculate accurate densities," Johnston said.
