HAMILTON – A wildland fire sparked over the weekend in the Big Creek Canyon west of Victor.
MTN News has confirmed the one-tenth of an acre fire is now under control.
The Bitterroot National Forest reports that equipment was flown in to help with the mop up.
Firefighters from the Stevensville Ranger District were called to the scene of the blaze.
Forest officials say that the fire was most likely caused by lightning from storms in the area.
