MISSOULA – A wildfire burning north of Missoula in the Rattlesnake Drainage continues to challenge firefighters on the ground.

Fire officials tell us they are watching for strong winds and a dry cold front expected later this evening which could increase fire activity on the 35 acre blaze.

Three helicopters have been dropping water onto the area and crews are confident it will take boots on the ground to contain this fire.

There are 107 personnel woking the blaze, which sits on very challenging terrain. The fire is 0% contained and no structures are threatened at this time.

Smoke may be visible from the Upper Rattlesnake area and Missoula and several trails are closed in the area.
