A little girl named Ruby was just 6 years old when she came up with an idea that will solve a major problem for people with a common food issue. It’s called the Food Cubby and it’s a deceptively simple device that keeps different foods from touching one another on your plate.
Thanks to Ruby’s genius design of this plate divider, every food has its place, and you don’t have to worry about any overlapping or mixing. This is excellent for any kid or adult out there who, much like Ruby, “hates itwhen her salad dressing runs into her pasta sauce at dinner.”
You can see how the Food Cubby works in this YouTube video from the brand’s official account. It shows how powerful the suction on the dividers is and also shows that they are dishwasher safe.
The Food Cubby got some serious traction when Ruby appeared on an episode of “Steve Harvey’s Funderdome” on ABC in 2017, leading it to sell out temporarily.
The gadget is currently available on Amazon in a two-pack for $14.99. It’s got great reviews so far, with nearly 800 customers giving it an average grade of 4.6 out of five stars at the site.
Food Cubby also offers a triangle-shaped model at Amazon that sells for the same price.
We couldn’t find any similar products for sale on Amazon, so it seems like Ruby had a truly unique idea. There are sets of plates that come pre-divided but the freedom that comes with the Food Cubby is what makes it perfect for parents who don’t want to buy their kids a whole new set of dishes.
Do you have a picky diner in your life who would love this nifty gadget?
