Former South Carolina Gov. challenges Trump for Republican primary

WASHINGTON D.C. — Ex-governor of South Carolina, Mark Sanford joins three other Republican candidates in the race for President.

Sanford had stated on Sunday Sept. 8th, that he is entering his name into the short list of Republican candidates during an appearance on Fox News.

President Donald Trump, former U.S. representative Joe Walsh, and former governor of Massachusetts, Bill Weld are the other contenders for the Republican seat.

Sanford has criticized President Trump on Twitter about the United States national debt, and has been critical towards the president for what Sanford calls unnecessary spending.

Republican officials in many states like, South Carolina, Nevada and Arizona have refused to hold primary elections for party candidates in support of current President Trump.
