POLSON — A Montana fugitive was arrested by Lake County Sheriff's Office deputies Tuesday evening near the shore of Flathead Lake.
Shane Nault, 43, was spotted working in the Woods Bay area by ATF agents who notified the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
But when Nault noticed law enforcement he took off. He jumped into Flathead Lake in an attempt to evade law enforcement and swam to the Driftwood Lane area.
He then led law enforcement on a short foot pursuit before being apprehended, according to Lake County Sheriff Don Bell.
Nault will now face local charges of resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer as well as federal weapons and drug trafficking violations.
