MISSOULA – The 2017-2018 School Year is under way, and that means that, once again, KPAX-TV and Allied Waste have teamed up to bring you One Class at a Time.

Each week during the school year, one teacher will be selected for their outstanding work and will receive a $250 check which will go toward a classroom need.

This week’s winners come from the newly-remodeled Franklin School.

Jackie Wood and Angie Palin are in need of more diverse history and science books in the classroom. They say they were particularly lacking in books featuring strong females.

KPAX-TV General manager, Bob Hermes awarded the teachers with grant.

“With our school now being an international baccalaureate school, and having our students become more global thinkers, we wanted to make sure we incorporated more diversity in our books,” Wood says.
