MISSOULA – Big Sky High School Physics and Engineering teacher Craig Messerman is working on a project with his students that will last for years to come.

He is encouraging his students to encapsulate their writings, drawings and other work by placing it on newly-resurfaced tables.

Once the tables are resurfaced, resin will be poured on each tabletop and will create a time capsule for the work the students place on the table.

Messerman is the winner of this week’s One Class at a Time grant sponsored by Republic Services and KPAX-TV. Republic Services representative Chad Bauer and KPAX-TV General Manager Bob Hermes awarded Messerman $250 toward the purchase of materials for the project.

“It’s a rare opportunity because this should last years, and years, and years. So, if they were to come back for Open House, or reunions and things like that maybe they’ll be able to come and see it,” Messerman said.
