MISSOULA – Meadow Hill Middle School teacher Molly Beck is this week’s Republic Services and KPAX-TV One Class at a Time winner.
Beck teaches sixth grade Social Studies and Language Arts and with each unit her students enter, she searches for ways to keep the kids engaged. Over the next few weeks, the class will be learning about mythology.
Beck says she believes a series of novels is the perfect way for kids to learn about mythology and will have some of her students interested in studying more outside of the classroom.
“The idea of it is to get kids interest, so these novels will be Percy Jackson novels which of are really high interest to these kids," Beck said.
Beck is receiving a $250 grant to help her buy the novels. Click here to apply for a One Class at a Time grant.
